Penguin Science

We put our hands in ice water then we saw what it would be like if we had blubber like penguins do...much warmer! We even used our thermometers to see the difference in the temperature.

I'm behind sorry...

I have gotten way behind on my blog posts so please forgive me but I'll try to catch up today! :)

Veterans Day

I'm not sure why this wasn't able to publish months ago but I just noticed it so...We had a fun week preparing for our Veterans Day parade and visitors. We worked hard all week to get our school ready for our sweet visitors! It is always so much fun to see the Veterans walk our halls and get to thank them for their amazing service defending our country. We even had a dad in our class who is a Veteran! We are so thankful for him!!

Reminders

Tomorrow we will have a Valentine's Day Party. If you wish to send something please do so in the morning. Also don't forget to send Valentine cards for all 18 of our friends. We made bags today to put them in so you will not need to send a bag or box. I sent home a list of our friends names last week if you want to personalize them, if not just have your child sign each of them.

Also, there will be no school Monday February 16th in honor of President's Day so enjoy a long weekend at home!!

Jack Hartman

We got to go to the Jack Hartman concert on Tuesday and we had so much fun!! Some of our neighbor teachers and one of the sweet girls in our class got to get up on stage and sing and dance with Jack!! It was a very exciting day!!!

Lifecycles

Last week we learned about life cycles and about butterflies and this craft was too cute not to share. We made this to hang in the hall and tell everyone about the changes butterflies go through! It is always fun to learn about now if we just had warm spring weather to go along with these cute butterflies it would be GREAT!!!

Guest Reader

Today we had a very special guest reader come to our class. Shawn was a student of mine last year and he earned over 40 AR points (55 to be exact) and he chose our class to read a story to. I love seeing my former students doing so well in 2nd grade!! WAY TO GO SHAWN!!
